Hi, I'm Clarah

Thanks for stopping by. So, you’re searching for a celebrant or you’re here because you love weddings just as much as I do, and you can’t get enough!

I became a celebrant in 2005 and my first wedding was on the lawn at The Glades Golf Club in Robina. It was April Fools Day 2006!!! It was a sunny day, I was wearing a black pants suit and fancy necklace and I felt excited to finally officiate my first wedding. Surprisingly, I didn’t feel a hint of nerves. It was like I was ‘home’ and doing what I was destined to do.

Becoming a celebrant had been a long-time dream—and a process! I had to include character references with my application and my local MP was one of them. When I collected my reference, the receptionist brashly told me no bride would ever book me for their wedding. In her eyes I didn’t fit the mould of a celebrant. I was completely shocked. What a superficial twit but thank goodness for her because she ignited the fire within me.

Since that day, I’ve performed more than 1800 wedding ceremonies and about 200 other types of ceremony. I cannot even begin to express how that achievement makes me feel. My weddings have taken me all over Australia, from Byron Bay weddings overlooking Australia’s most easterly point at the Fig Tree Restaurant and Elements of Byron, to Brisbane weddings in city hotels and botanic gardens, to Hamilton Island weddings with pristine water as the backdrop, and Tweed Coast weddings at my local venues Summergrove Estate, Fins at Plantation House and Osteria Casuarina.

What I love most is that I still love weddings. I still get that feeling of excitement for the couple—even when it’s a crazy, windy day or 500 degrees in the shade; even when there’s a cyclone looming!!! All these experiences just make it even more interesting and memorable.
